Common Reasons for Delays
Application stuck? Here are the most likely reasons.
Even a small typo in your name, date of birth, or SSN4 can cause an automated rejection. Ensure your application details match your ID exactly.
If the photo of your SNAP card or pay stub was blurry, cut off, or dark, you will need to re-upload a clear copy.
If you live in a multi-unit building, forgetting the Apartment Number is a common error. Also, PO Boxes are typically not accepted as a primary service address.
What if I was Rejected?
Don't panic. You have options:
- Appeal: If you believe there was an error, you can file an appeal with the USAC within a specific timeframe.
- Re-Apply: Fix the error (like an incorrect address) and submit a fresh application.
- Nonprofit Aid: Check our list of charities that provide phones outside of federal rules.
